Getting the most out of your careers team means more than just booking an appointment. While this is something you definitely can do, your careers team works really hard in other ways and brings you resources and information that will really help you develop your career. Student Circus the University of Warwick is keen to develop the employability of our international students and has invested in the student circus platform. Previously, this resource was only available to the Business School under the Warwick Manufacturing Group, but now, all international students in all departments can access it. Research resources and attend careers events to help you learn more about your desired job. Researching is vital to making a good application, so finding out about the organizations and the jobs is essential. These resources will help you to build up all of your knowledge to help you make more well-informed, realistic career decisions. Here are the links.
- Attend the International student workshops. These are designed purely for our international students and give you a chance to speak to the team about your needs. Check MyAdvantage for the sessions and book your place.
- Look at the International Careers resources and be aware of all the resources on offer to you during your time here at Warwick. These are opportunities that are open to both undergraduates and post-graduates alike. You may not have even been aware of this great resource and the worldwide opportunities this team promotes International Careers
- The Careers Chat podcast—This podcast offers short episodes that discuss topics that impact international students and we welcome suggestions on topics. - The International Student Careers Club. This one-stop shop gives you the latest news, events, and vacancies directly on MS TEAMS. Just join now. You won’t miss out on anything again! International student Careers club
- Check in on the Central team’s workshops and your department’s careers offering. Find out who your Senior Careers Consultant is. Make sure you get your CV checked, and attend the workshops offered. This Spring term events programme includes, for example AI for interviews, how to practice competency interviews, assessment centre practice sessions, career planning for neuro-diverse students and much, much more. Don’t forget to join student societies and have fun as you build your networks. Employability skills can be evidenced through the Warwick Award so look into this too as a way to reflect on your skills and help you to better articulate your abilities
