We are kicking off the new year and are excited for what’s ahead! Hopefully you all have some big, audacious goals for the new year. We’ve had a lot going on in the background for the last couple of months and we’re excited to get back to the podcast and blog.
We’ll do a full recap soon of our 2024 flips with profit margins, what we paid for items, and how much we sold them for after shipping and fees. We think that’s important because we are big into profit margins. We’re also excited to be back and share flips this year.
2025 Goals
My goal for 2025 is to work less, vacation more. I work hard so I can spend time with Melissa and the kids and take vacations. That’s why I do what I do. Last year the number of hours we spent on flipping was slim. I didn’t list as much as I need to, but we still made great sales.

Melissa’s goal is to go on our flipping trip again this year. In previous years, we’ve done a cross-country road trip where we source along the way. Last summer we didn’t do it, and it felt like something was missing. The last four years we did it, we picked up 10-17 items each year for roughly $25,000 of inventory, and only spent $800-$1,500. Then we bring the items back, clean them up, and sell them.
It’s pretty exciting to be able to go on a road trip and I always make it a game to play to pay for the trip with items we find. We’re building amazing memories with our kids, while finding incredible inventory for our flipping business. We visit national and state parks, and explore the country.
2025 Flips
Last week I shipped out $2,500 worth of inventory and it was just two items. I shipped some Absen LED wall hardware that hangs LED panels. There was a lot of 12 for over $2,000 and then I shipped out a new manual wheelchair. I was able to get it this to a lady who needed it and it fit all of her criteria such as being able to take the wheels off and being a manageable weight. She was so thankful and so happy and we shipped it to her super fast. I actually paid for upgraded shipping on it so I could get it to her. She wanted to use it before church on Sunday. It cost me a little bit more, but at the same time I was trying to accommodate her. We’re excited to share more flipping stories like these throughout the year and we’ll dive into the profit margins in more detail.
Preparing For 2025
Right now, we’re getting ready for a yard sale. We’ve been in our house for 13 years and it’s amazing what you accumulate during that time. Our kids are currently going through their items and they get to keep the profit from any of their items that sell. Then we’ll donate the rest. Sometimes you just need to clear things out. We might even clear out project inventory that I haven’t done anything with – those are items that I have to fix up to be able to sell. Sometimes I don’t get around to it and that’s okay because I typically get these items for free.

If you didn’t flip much over the holidays, don’t stress about it. Let’s start fresh and put some of your goals in front of you. You can’t achieve goals if you don’t have them. We’ll be here cheering you guys on. We’re your biggest cheerleaders for getting this stuff moving and finding some amazing flips this year and flipping some amazing stuff. We want to hear about your goals and how we can help you with flipping in 2025. Comment below or email [email protected] to share.
