This is a unique opportunity to further your experience working on electrical equipment in diverse locations across the United States, including power plants, hydroelectric dams, and other large industrial facilities. Our Staff Consultant’s primary role includes performing as a Subject Matter Expert in multiple disciplines and able to apply expertise to new areas and complex issues, within the T&D Engineering and Consulting Division.Preferred Locations: Remote position; anywhere in Canada or the US, excluding Hawaii and Alaska.Responsibilities:Apply experience to independently perform, lead others, advance collective capabilities, and expand business in related and adjacent areas in studies for power flow, transient stability, short-circuit, Electromagnetic Transients (EMT), harmonics, techno-economics, and related areas for transmission, distribution, load, and generator applications.Lead, advance, and bring new perspectives in script development and troubleshooting throughout the study process, ensuring high quality and timely deliverables, minimizing rework and review needs. Identify and implement modifications to more effectively address workloads.Provide SME in multiple disciplines and apply expertise to new areas.Lead and contribute to industry organizations and conferences.Collaborate with, lead, advance capabilities, and bring in new perspectives of clients for team members in understanding study requirements, including technical and commercial items, such as billable hours, to ensure high quality and timely deliverables throughout the study process.Apply, lead, advance, and expand opportunities for others in the knowledge of standards, rules, guidelines, and tariffs for power systems and equipment, founded in first principles and extensions thereof.Ensure appropriate handling of all technical and commercial information, discussing, identifying, and mitigating in advance any potential concerns for conflict-of-interest and ensuring data is protected and only shared with the appropriate individuals according to the agreements signed, while data is being transmitted, during computations, and in temporary and long-term storage.Ensure appropriate project setup and closeout with supervisor and support staff.Ensure hours are appropriately logged and reviewed with supervisor on a weekly basis. Flag any potential concerns in advance of the budget potentially being exceeded with enough advance warning for mitigation to be put in place to meet budget.Attend and organize call meetings as necessary, with materials prepared in advance, to discuss and to effectively troubleshoot any concerns with studies or workloads.Ensure project time reporting is entered promptly and accurately to support accounting with cost recognition and payroll.Communicates regularly with management regarding needs, objectives, issues, and open projects.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited institution in electrical engineering preferred or additional years of experience in related field.A minimum of 15-22 years related experience preferred.Possesses well-developed organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills in interacting with management, technical support staff, suppliers, and clients.Demonstrated proficiency in managing, leading, delegating, negotiating for win-win outcomes, and in handling business and administrative responsibilities.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete and/or abstract variables.Demonstrated ability to perform simulations and run power system related software.Ability to add, subtract, and divide all units of measure.Demonstrates ability to use Microsoft Office ‘Excel’ to craft tables and figures for technical reports.Ability to read company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English.Demonstrates ability to write technical reports in Microsoft Office ‘Word’ and to deliver presentations in ‘PowerPoint’ in English proficiently. Licensures and Certifications: Engineer-In-Training preferred (for Professional Engineer P.E. license), but not required.Other Requirements:Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests and a pre-employment criminal background check.Valid and current driver’s license with a clean driving record.Ability to travel a maximum of 25%.Benefits:Competitive compensation.Flexible work environment.Generous medical, dental, and vision benefits at the start of the month following hire date.Safe harbor 401(k) plan with a 3% non-elective contribution and free investment consultation.Generous paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.Educational Assistance Program, to include paid memberships in professional associations, conference and training opportunities.Employee Assistance program which offers support on finances, legal, and counseling.Wellness incentives through our healthcare provider.Fast growing company with great potential for career growth.*We welcome applications from qualified candidates, including those who may require visa sponsorship to work in the United States** 
Working Conditions:
The working conditions for this role primarily involve a standard office environment with typical office noise levels. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, working at a computer, and performing tasks that demand visual acuity for reading and typing. This job may require travel to RMS facilities and other sites.  Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift and carry office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, the capability to move within the office to access files, office machinery, and meeting rooms, and fine motor skills for keyboard use.
